ISO papier mache artist! Need advice?
I am an altered art artist trying this new medium. I would like to offer weddings customized favor boxes for paper mache and other practical and decorative elements. I would of bought unfinished paper mache bases work. I already have A couple of small boxes for the favors, my first project acquired. I realize that they do not close easily. My questions are incomplete paper mache otherwise gessoed or primed? before another color or decoration should I plan to mask parts of the boxes that close cooperation with other words, the inside of the eyelids and parts of Sites covered by the lid. I do not want a tighter fit so that it Good Idea? Can I use a simple color ink these uncoated areas? Can I change the connection regions smooth, easy to close more? How? Rosin? Beeswax? Paraffin? What techniques and materials work best on paper mache? What is the best sticky sealant for a decorated paper mache box? Recommended books or websites? Any advice appreciated!
Hmmm. First, remember that you selected in paper to work. Against this background, I would say that these terms handmade paper (also on a pre-form) should not be permanent or static. Sealing can the concepts more durable, but they may also lose character and life that can come with age and use. Some art should be volatile. That makes it even more special and time. Like life.
