Kirigami – The Japanese art of paper cutting
Kirigami is the ancient Japanese art of folding paper cutting. Quite simply, by kiri "Cutting" and gami means "paper".
Making Kirigami is as simple as a piece of paper and cutting tool (such as scissors or scalpel Art knife) drawing a picture and cutting it out. There are of course other techniques that are used, such as various types of folds the paper (such as Japanese Origami), followed by cutting an image from.
By following a few steps, it is possible to create beautiful clippings, scrapbooks, cards, curtains decorate and even pop-up decorations.
At first it may sound difficult to do, but is actually Kirigami Fun for all ages and skill levels.
Many children who have actually tried Kirigami projects in their schools. be a rule in winter, paper snowflakes, cut out hearts for Valentine's Day, or a number of people hand in hand to promote cooperation and friendship. All these projects are easy and fun Kirigami.
As a first attempt to point out that the difficulty is up to the creator. There are many projects require, simple cuts and designs. Select any image with a few Details and from there begins on a blank sheet of paper. It is important that the main outlines of the images attached, and only the "meaty" parts cut out.
The most important tools and materials needed for Kirigami are paper, pencil, scissors or scalpel blade, and if you want more detailed designs, a mini stapler, the threadbare areas to strengthen and maintain focus is to make the paper for precise cuts.
There are three rules that Kirigami, and they are fold, draw and cut.
Whilst some designs require relatively specific wrinkles, the best way to start is by folding a sheet of paper in half and drawing the image on one side only make certain to include within the folded edge of the image (these are the two sides of the paper together and keep creating a mirror image of what you cut).
Cut In drawing up the image you want, it's best, half of them draw from the top of the folded edge. This works best for images such as butterflies or flowers, the sides need symmetric. Once you're done, there are many different things that Kirigami cutouts are applied can.
Here are some examples:
- Seal and lined them up to cell phones.
- Frame in a frame clear glass for decoration around the house.
- Add translucent or metallic paper on the back (or create two identical clips to sandwich the metallic paper) develop and You see a glass window. It is a beautiful window hanging.
- Make small pieces of Kirigami, save them to colored or contrasting paper and place a magnet on the back.
- Secure them blank cards or notebooks for decoration.
- Fold or bend, and secure the ends to create pop-up art.
- Use them as templates.
