Is it legal to sell jewelry collage?
I make jewelry collage with images that I cut out of magazines, newspapers, paper, wrap old postcards, etc. Is it legal for me to see my jewelry for sale at craft shows gift, or is it illegal, since I cut out the pictures I cut from a foreign work of art?
This is a difficult question. If there is copyrighted material, and it is clearly seen that material, like, a famous work of art, probably not legal? For example, you should not cut out pictures of Mickey Mouse and make children's products and sell them? I do not know. What is more generic images, but from the work a photographer? You know people do it and nobody complains, but strictly legal? Hard to say. Collage is a recognized form of art, and that's what you need to make a collage.
