Beginner acrylic painting tips and techniques

Acrylic paint, compared with other media such as oil paint, is a fairly new addition to the world of painting. It has only since the 1950s. It has been continuously in the development and refinement since that time. Just because acrylic has color as long as oils, that color makes it less important or pleasant.

Some of the wonderful benefits of using acrylic paints are their versatility, durability and ease of use. These colors can be closely be applied as thickly or in thin washes like watercolor. Acrylic paint does not harden or yellow with age, such as oils.

Another reason artists like working with acrylic paint is its quick drying time. Since acrylic paint dries so quickly, the colors applied and layered faster than oil paints. But with this fast Drying time is a few drawbacks:

1) The color is not practical for very long, so you have to work fast.

2) brushes can destroyed if you do not clean they make now.

3) If you plan to paint outdoors, then acrylic paint is probably not the best medium to use, especially on a hot sunny day. If you lay out your colors on a palette or other surface, they will start to dry quickly forming membranes on the surface, so that they are working very hard.

Acrylic Painting Techniques

Watercolor effects

Many artists would like to use acrylic paint in a liquid state, similar to the watercolor. It is a remarkable difference, however. With acrylic, you can wash up on each other without Fear of disturbing the colors layered underneath. You must wait for one layer to dry completely before any other course. After each layer dries, it will insoluble in water. A disadvantage of using acrylic as watercolor is the difficulty in changing the color. Once acrylic paint begins to dry, it is very difficult to change are washed and may eventually dry with unwanted hard edges. You can avoid this problem in one of two ways. You can either dampen the paper before the ink is applied or you can moisten a brush with additional water. Use a brush to apply the paint and immediately soften the Edge with the other brush was dampened with the water.

Cast & Dripping technology

This technique was made popular by the master painter Jackson Pollock in the late 1940s and early 1950s. They use a very liquid acrylic paint for this technique. You can pour it directly on the canvas or dip brush into the paint and let it drip down onto the canvas. You can see some very interesting effects with this technique. Check Jackson Pollock's work out to see this technology in action.

Sgraffito

Sgraffito is a scratching technique. It got its name from the Italian word which literally graffiare scratch. As the name implies, it is in the surface of the wet paint, which shows either scratching the soil or layer of dry color underneath. There are a number of tools that can be used for this technique. Tools such as screwdrivers or the pointed end To work around an old brush to work.

With a knife

A regular doctor, that in case of hardware or Buy Auto Store, has the opportunity to create some interesting effects. First squeeze out some paint blobs directly along one edge of your support. The Layout, what colors you want. Then with one fluid motion pull the paint across the surface smearing with your doctor and mix the color as you go.

Acrylic painting tips

Diversity

One of the things that makes a painting interesting is Variety. Use a variety of different strokes, techniques and values in your images. Change the direction of your strokes, or mix different techniques, the same in the picture.

Do not Copy

Do not copy other artists. Have you influenced by other authors and you paint your own impression of what you see from your heart and soul. This is how your inner creativity shines on the silver screen. It's what set painters such as Vincent Van Gogh and Salvador Dali, apart from the rest at any injection their own style and heart into their work.

Observe your surroundings

Spend time to observe and study your subjects and surroundings. Landscape painters spend much time outdoors studying nature. Figure and portrait photographers spend much time studying the human anatomy. If you paint is not enough spending time observing the topics you want, then you will not have the necessary Knowledge in order to paint them.

Art Supplies

If you provide quality acrylic painting? At first when you experiment, is it okay to use cheaper supplies, but what will you learn more, you can invest in better quality. If it delivers the visual arts is, you get usually what you pay for. If you buy cheap brushes, they will more than likely to fall apart, start. The ferrule of the brush can loosen and turn out the hair can. If you use cheap paint, you get good results. The colors are not the same brilliance or the right consistency.

Not Afraid to use your Paint

Let's face it, good paint is not cheap, so in an effort to protect our paint, some artists like little color use as possible. This is a reasonable concern, but the truth is that your painting is more interesting when you lay down the brush stroke, let them alone, and then load your brush. Do not try and rub the color into the canvas, otherwise you are just staining, not painting.

Not to think

Not to overly criticize or judge your work while you are painting. This will discourage and frustrate you. Just let go and relax. Trust yourself and your abilities. ?
