If the right kind of paper the animation use tracing paper?
If the tissue paper that you are right in the sketchbook section of most art supply stores the type of paper to create animations using? If you are familiar with tracing paper, you have a light table? Thanks:)
Tracing general negates the need for a light table. However, it is very absorbent, making it a poor choice for paints and varnishes. Velum is somewhat opaque, but stronger than tracing paper and works great with ink, even when standing up, without tearing repeated Delete. It is about twice the price of standard and transparent paper usually in the same Storage area of art displayed. I have recently "treated" acetate, which tries accepts fine, felt-tip pen ink with no creases! Very promising, but the most expensive. If it is "cell"-type animation (camera captures action frame by frame) you try, I suggest checking out collections of animated "shorts" to store on DVD / VHS from a library or video. You'll see cell animation comes in endless forms, many not on paper ever! While a light table is not necessary for tracing paper or parchment, I recommend it anyway. It makes everything much clearer, and save a lot of time in an already time-consuming process.
